ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
In the vast majority of universities in the United States, there are academic scholarships for those students with a high level of study. To be eligible for these scholarships, universities mainly take into account these three factors:
- Your high school grades or equivalent. Generally, an average grade from your last 2 years prior to college. Average grade 8`5 / 10.
- SAT test score. Grade over 1100. The SAT is made up of 2 sections (Critical Reading and Maths).
- TOEFL test score. Grading of more than 80 out of 120.

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS
In the United States, universities offer a unique and very well-organized sports scholarship system which allows you to train and compete in your sport at the highest level and at the same time study your career of choice. Students and athletes from all over the world choose this sports and educational system that allows you to continue to meet your goals.
There are an estimated 2,000 universities in the United States that offer athletic scholarships, as well as academic scholarships.
These universities belong to different leagues:
National College Athletic Association (NCAA) : This is the sports association with the most economic resources in terms of number of sports scholarships and with the best and largest sports facilities in terms of capacity and quality.
There are three divisions within the NCAA:
-
NCAA DIVISION 1: These are the universities with the highest athletic level in the United States and also offer the largest number of athletic scholarships. The level of competitiveness is very high at all Division 1 colleges, considering that many athletes become professional following graduation. In order to access this division, universities look for athletes with a very high sports level. The more complete your profile, the better
-
NCAA DIVISION 2: These are smaller colleges. They generally offer less sports programs than Division 1 Universities, however the level of competition is still high, even sometimes beating some Division 1 Universities. To access this division, universities look for athletes with a good sports level.
-
NCAA DIVISION 3: Universities within this Division are not authorized to give sports scholarships; however, they do offer academic scholarships and financial loans to their athletes. The average sporting and competitive level of this Division is lower than that of the previous Divisions, however they continue to enjoy a good level.
National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA): at NAIA universities, the requirements for membership in this league are lower than those required by the NCAA. They are smaller universities, however, have great academic and sporting prestige. The athletic level is not as high as in the NCAA but includes very good teams, facilities and universities.
In some NAIA Universities it is common to find athletes of a similar level to some of those in NCAA Division 1 and Division 2 Universities.
National Junior College Athletic Association (NCJAA): This association is made up of small universities, who offer university programs which typically last for 2 years. These students must therefore transfer to another university to complete their careers/studies and be able to graduate. Regarding the athletic level, universities on this level would serve as a transition for athletes who were unable to gain admittance to the NCAA or NAIA.
